This short film is a spoof on the Publisher's Clearing House Prize Patrol, complete with balloons and a novelty-sized check for five million dollars. We shot it in about 90 minutes, and had our fair share of onlookers... that were probably thinking they were seeing the genuine article.

Our acting "crew" of cameraman and boomperson, were actually rolling tape and collecting sound for use in editing. I shot the other angles with a borrowed (and oh so yummy) Panasonic AG-DVX100. Since I couldn't match the footage of the ENG-style JVC camera the "cameraman" was shooting, I put in an Photoshop overlay I made to resemble a viewfinder. Scanlines complete the illusion.

I found out in post, that much of our audio was under-mic'ed. Although our "boomperson" was wearing cans, these weren't actually tied into the audio feed to the camera receiving the sound. There were also several instances of clipping... like when "Dani" goes psyco at the camera. A lot of the ambient noises: traffic, trains, and airplanes (Planes, Trains, and Automobiles!) Consequently, the audio required a LOT of cleaning up in Adobe Audition 1.5.

Editing was performed in Adobe Premiere Pro, and the opening sequence I made a passing facsimile of PCH's logo and faked it up in Photoshop, then animated in After Effects 6.5. I authored up DVD's of the production in Encore 1.5, rounding out my full usage of Adobe's Video Collection.

This was a very fun shoot, but a fairly brutal edit.
