Dare I say the word “snow” in another post?

Since today was trash day, we got a jumpstart on getting the City to plow our neighborhood streets. The plow has to proceed the trash truck. Strangely, the plow wasn’t even chained up, so he swiftly managed to get himself stuck. Luckily, he had a bunch of sand onboard. A neighbor even helped him. While I… uh, took a picture!
The trash truck finally made it to my house, but not before snapping off the wheel of my neighbor’s trash can. The operator actually noticed and got out and fixed the unit. These City folks are certainly earning their pay this winter, and I’m pleased to see their dedication.
This weather really illuminates the human nature of folks. There’s those that pitch in to help a stranger get un-stuck. There’s those that dutifully shovel their walks, drives, and streets, and even those of their neighbors. And then there’s those that shovel only their driveways if they shovel anything at all. And there’s those that write or call into the local paper to complain about what is or isn’t being done about snow removal, instead of getting out and removing some snow themselves.
